Camden Hire's new Hino 300 Series 616 automatic light-duty trucks are able to be driven with a car licence.
Purchased from Adtrans Hino at Smeaton Grange, the trucks are fitted with Westrucks FRP Pan Bodies and Dhollandia tail lifts for easy loading and access.
Michael Lindsay of Adtrans Hino assisted Camden Hire with the procurement and customisation of the fleet of 300 Series trucks.
"With our experience supplying trucks to other rental fleets, we suggested a suite of accessories for each truck to ensure it would provide the best experience for Camden Hire customers," Mr Lindsay said.
"We've helped 'rentalise' these vehicles to benefit customers and Camden Hire."
Camden Hire founder Mike Scarce OAM had previous experience with Hino trucks which has now been rekindled with Adtrans Hino.
"We had Hino trucks in our fleet years ago and were delighted when we realised we now have a Hino dealership in such close proximity to our headquarters in Smeaton Grange," Mr Scarce said.
"We're currently in talks with Adtrans to add light-duty tippers to our range of vehicles as well."
Accessories on Camden Hire's new trucks include heavy duty seat covers and screw-in floor mats, tail light protectors, 'quacker' reverse alarm, handbrake alarm and a chain on the fuel cap to prevent fuel loss.
Attention to detail for customers includes height stickers on the windscreen to assist renters unfamiliar with driving taller vehicles and diesel stamps on the single fuel tank.
The trucks are also fitted with a reversing camera which is standard on all Hino 300 Series models.
Camden Hire was established in 1984 and services greater metropolitan Sydney and beyond, specialising in building, excavation and landscape equipment.
